I am grateful for very old friends (I don't mean old in years : ) that I have lost contact with but recently found. I have reconnected with several friends from my high school, and young married years and it is wonderful to talk with them again. We have all gotten older but that's okay. They bring back memories of all the crazy fun times we had and it is hard to believe so many years have passed by. I am blessed by all of them!

I am grateful today for eulogies at funerals that help me to remember a wonderful life. Chris and I went to the funeral of a friend and co-worker who passed away at the age of 98! Benny led a fulfilling life and was honored by family and friends. What a blessing it is to give thanks for a life well lived.

I am grateful for courage to try something new. I went to a drawing/art class today after much fear and trepidation. I have always admired my father-in-law's talent as a watercolor artist. Then I found out from my aunt that my mother used to also draw and paint in her youth. I decided to take that step and start my drawing career. I was blessed with a gracious and helpful teacher and new friends to encourage me on my first day of class. I'm so glad that I took that first step.

My gratitude today is for my eyesight. I had an eye doctor appointment today and it looks like I might have to have cataract surgery in my left eye next year. After I was done with my appointment, I realized how blessed I was to be able to see (even though it is with thick lensed glasses) and I gave thanks that there are modern medical advances that can give me that peace of mind.

I discovered Hulu today (an on-line tv and movie website) I found some of my favorite old TV shows and watched several of them. Its so amazing that I can see so many of them from the time I was a child through today. I am grateful for being able to watch these shows some of which I have not seen for years! Such fun!

I consider myself pretty blessed when it comes to my grandchildren. They are all super special and such a joy to be with. I appreciate being able to spend time with them (even though it might not be as much as some grandparents have) They all have different personalities and that is what makes it so much fun.
